On Friday, November 21, 2014, the Children’s Aid Foundation of Ottawa, with the support of the Scotiabank Group, proudly hosted the 20th anniversary of North America’s—and possibly the world’s—largest trivia team competition, World Trivia Night. This year’s event took place at the Ernst & Young Centre and was co-hosted by Dan Pihlainen and Rob Jellett.
This year’s event raised over $42,000 to help fund education and enrichment programs for children and youth in the care of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa.
1,400 participants in teams of 10 trivia enthusiasts competed for many great prizes including Championship Team prizes of a $5,000 grand prize, with runner up prizes of $3,000 and $2,000 and round-by-round awards.
Congratulations to Nerd Alert who was this year’s overall winning team which was decided in an epic tie breaking event between three teams.
Thank you to all our Champion teams who raised an additional $1000 in pledges. A special thank you to team Riverside Pub, who for the 8th year in a row has been the top fundraising team. They raised an outstanding $4,830 for the kids!
Thank you to all sponsors, participants, volunteers and Champions for making this event a success!
Over the past 20 years, this unique fundraising event has raised over $900,000 to support education and enrichment programs for children and youth in care of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa.
