Dare to Dream Bursary Application
Are you a former or current youth in the care of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa?
The Dare to Dream Bursary is available to individuals planning to attend a recognized post-secondary college, university, or trade school.
Important Dates:
- Winter Application Period opens (October 22, 2024)
- Winter Application Period closes (November 18, 2024 at 5:00pm)
- Applications received after the deadline will not be evaluated (no exceptions will be granted)

First-Time Applicant

Returning Applicant
People who have previously received a CAFO Dare to Dream Bursary
Additional Information
There are two types of applications, First Time Students and Renewing Students.
All applications must be submitted using the Google Form linked above (accessible only during application period). If you do not use Gmail, simply create a (free) Google Account with your existing email address. An option to do so will be available when asked to sign-in to the form.
The application can be translated by right clicking on the form and selecting “Translate to”. A box will appear with a variety of languages to choose from. Responses should be submitted in English or French only.
Paper and handwritten submissions will not be evaluated.

The University of Ottawa partners with the Children’s Aid Foundation and Society of Ottawa to help you with the transition to post-secondary education and provides supports to help you achieve your educational goals.
“The University of Ottawa Youth in Care Program is a cross-campus initiative that supports students from Ontario and other Canadian provinces and territories who have been raised in youth in care programs, in foster care, under child protection services or in similar circumstances.
The program includes the Scholarship for Current and Former Youth in Care and other financial support, as well as help in handling administrative processes (admissions, course enrolment) and a wide range of support services for academic success and mental health.”
