The majority of the work CAS Ottawa does is with children and youth living at home; however, there are few resources available to support these families. That’s where the Cookie Jar comes in.
Youth Transition
Entering foster care and leaving foster care are two stressful times in a child’s life. Our Foundation tries to make them as comfortable and prepared as possible to tackle these momentous life changes.
Enrichment
For some families, summertime and the holiday season are not happy times. Camp for Kids and the Holiday Gift Program exist to try and change that.

One of my families was in desperate need for beds for their children. One of the kids was sleeping on an incline, as her bedframe was cracked in half. The parents were so thankful for the Foundation’s generosity and they said their hearts were full of joy. Lillian was jumping up and down in excitement over her new comfy bed. My favourite part of my job is getting to bring joy to a family. I brought holiday presents to a family of two parents and five children. One young boy was sick over the holidays, so he didn’t have a chance to play with his new toys. His younger brother made him a little figurine out of the clay he received from a donor to cheer him up. It was really sweet to see.
