The 28th annual Ski For Kids event took place Friday, February 16th and was once again a huge success! This year’s event saw more than 50 teams hit the slopes at Mont Ste Marie, raising funds for the two charities of choice, CAFO and the CHEO Foundation.
This year, Ski For Kids and September’s “Golf For Kids” event combined to raise a record-breaking total of $454,500.
This third party fundraising event has become an annual tradition for many families in the Ottawa area, with the vast majority of teams featuring returning participants. This year, Alanna Sterling, a past Dare to Dream Bursary recipient, performed at the sponsor dinner the day before the event. Alanna graduated last year from the University of Ottawa in Biomedical Science, and her presence gave attendees a better understanding of how the funds raised help youth supported by The Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa.
